Just Imagine

by a young woman, age 15

At the age of 15 you live the life with chaos and much loss.
The screaming sounds of your neglected baby,
Or the struggle in which your sister calls "Save Me."
The sound of the door slam
With the entrance of your drunken mother,
The cups being smashed by your bi-polar brother.
Your dad who is oftentimes not there,
Due to an addiction to crack and his small affair.
Your extended family lives with you, too,
Due to their parents' addiction and the choices they choose.
Your life is something you cannot explain,
Through the chaos, struggle, and pain.
