Forgiveness
by Charlene

I’ve forgiven my mother, loving and simplistic
For leaving me raw at 15
My father, caring and incestuous
For touching the unknown of a green child
Then dying, leaving me with unresolved feelings
My friends, young and unkind
For moronically leading me the wrong direction
And Debbie, strawberry-blonde and stubborn
    For ignorantly following
To greedily get what you wanted
And leaving me when I needed you most
To all my pain-givers,
    You are forgiven
For I deserve
    Not to carry
The pithy weight of your anger
