Love, Sometimes
by Ann

Sometimes love
Hides behind a mask,
Clings to every trick
But sweetness—
Confuses in its harshness,
An abyss that grips
And tangles

Sometimes its many faces
Leave traces of nothing
To pine for
No fairy tale hailed
With armor and damsel,
Shards of shattered myth

Sometimes its flurry
Flattens me to nap
Re-dream the scheme of it

Kiss it like a pearl.
