Pink Flower

by Sugarwon (age 14)

I am a pretty pink flower.
You are a human.
I am always sitting in the
dirt. You have a nice
beautiful house.
I have weeds. You have
children. Your children
pick me and stick me
on the table, in a vase
with water. I stare out
the window. I watch my
friends that were once weeds
turn into pretty pink
flowers. I slowly fade.
My color goes away.
My stem is molding.
My roots are cut. My petals
fall. My water evaporated.
And now my friend is on
the table.

Dedicated to my mom
