I Like the Rain More than The Sun

by a young man, age 13

Wish my wrist was bleeding
To stop my heart from beating
With a blade or a knife
To end this life
Just being in here
And what happens outside of this place
My dad is a druggie
My mom is depressed
And she hasn’t stopped crying
Since I’ve been here
It’s a high chance I’ll be found guilty
Like my uncle did when he wasn’t guilty
The sad thing is
I’ve felt this way since I was eight
My cousin abused me every day
And my dad can’t do anything
He needs drugs to feel happy every day
I like that it’s raining
I like the rain more than sun
I like the rain because I can walk in peace
No one will really bother me
Because no one likes the rain
And because of that I feel no more pain
