A Blue River

by a young woman, age 13

softly the water flows
bubbling over soft stones
trickling in a river of blue

the river weeps in low tones
speaking of sorrow unknown
crying for things unsaid

weaving its way down the slope
singing its pain to the trees
a river of tears

[Author Statement: "Writing is important to me because it is a chance to make up your own world. That in itself is valuable because sometimes the 'real world' isn't how you want it. Writing gives you the way to make the world the way you see it in yourself. It also helps you share your feelings around through words (which are priceless because they are free)."]
